Disclaimer: This is NOT a low calorie dish, but it IS delicious!
I was inspired by this recipe from Taste of Home (one of my fav places to get recipes, because many of them are from real people, not professional chefs): https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/bacon-cheeseburger-slider-bake/
I did make two pans as the recipe suggested, but I gave one pan to my sisters family immediately upon baking. One pan was PLENTY for two adults and two kids.
I followed the recipe with the following changes:
-One pound ground venison, one pound 80/20 ground beef
-Venison bacon (instead of pork bacon)
-1/2 cup butter in the glaze (instead of a full cup of butter…could probably even go less, and could lessen the brown sugar too)
Served with baked beans, Asian coleslaw, and fruit (not pictured). This felt like a very American summer meal! 🇺🇸 ☀️🍔
